Windows 7 shutdown improperly

Now when I shut the lid windows shuts down, when I open the lid I have to re-start window thus giving me an improper shut down error. Also it does not matter where I set my power options.

I have also checked in the bios but no entry that I can see. I also have run RegCure to hopefully take care of the problem but no cigar. Any help on this matter would be greatly appriciated. Are you getting any error messages? Check in event viewer for any particular error. Click an event log in the left pane. Double-click an event to view the details of the event.

On the General tab, click Selective Startup. Click OK. When you are prompted, click Restart. Log back into your Account. On the General tab, click Normal Startup. How satisfied are you with this reply? And now, when I boot the computer and log on, the computer improperly shuts down without any warning in about 10 minutes after boot. However, it does not do this when I enter Safe Mode with Networking. I do not want to roll back the computer using System Restore i.

I don't know what is triggering the shutoff. I think it shuts off by itself when I don't use the computer by using the keyboard, mouse, etc. When I let it idle and walk away from my desk, I come back to find it being shut off. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much. Check Event Log search Event Viewer in Start whether you find some relevant information around the time it shut down.

Since it works in Safe Mode, try the Clean Boot diagnostic procedure. Would you please elaborate on the disabled funtion in the antivirus program that you said windows update disabled?
